The KnK Genesis SX6 stands among the safest rental karts available today. Built to meet the safety requirements for recreation karts recommended by the CiK FIA. It has also passed the extremely stringent safety requirements laid out for go karting by Israel. These requirements are considered in the rental kart building industry to be one of the most demanding and stringent in the world.

Addressing the growing concern towards the safety of Gokarts used at amusement and entertainment gokarting centers, the CIK-FIA, the body that governs the sports of gokart racing realized the necessity to introduce a set of guidelines for manufactures so that the gokarts used at such facilities provided patrons and guests a safer environment to enjoy the excitement and thrills of rental karting.

A small family entertainment facility has opened in Kanpur,India, named A1. The karting facility at A1 will offer patrons drives in The KnK Prodigy (kid kart for drivers between 5 ~ 7 years), KnK Colt (cadet class drivers 8 to 12 years) and the popular KnK Genesis IS and KnK Duet (two-seat kart).

Moto GP looks set to introduce a fresh set of regulations in 2011 and an increase in engine capacity, possibly a year ahead of the originally planned date. The reason might be that it is starting to get too exciting and so far the number of injuries has been low!!!!

During these austere times nothing deserved the recognition and awards at the Oscars more than Slum dog Millionaire. Raising hopes and encouraging dreams, the movie created by lesser known artists and kids from the slums of Mumbai just seemed to provide the perfect ingredient. AR Rehman’s unusual and fascinating music creations turned focus to the fact there is room for new ideas and fresh faces to make it to the top in a field surrounded by the largest movie industry in the world, dominated by huge names. Call it the influence of dreams!!

A little after Honda announced it was pulling out of F1, Suzuki and Subaru followed with announcements of their decision to withdraw from the World Rally Championship. More recently Kawasaki announced that they will not field a team in Moto GP this year. The situation with motor sports is getting to be a matter of concern and many of the problems seem common to other disciplines of motor racing too, including karting.

On May 18th, Monica raced in the Toowoomba Challenge atnToowoomba with her JL 302 and finshed second and recorded the fastest lap in her class, the Clubman Light. Monica loves the JL302 and finds it easy to drive. She is impressed with the turn in of the chassis.

Indian cadet driver Arjun Maini drove to an excellent victory at the first round of the Asia Max Challenge (AMC) at Kota Bharu. Arjun showed just how strong he is going to be in the Rotax Micro Max class in his KnK Juvenile.

We arrived in Malaysia when the Moto GP testing was in progress and spent two days at Sepang. To watch objects of this size hurtling out of corners and down the straight and then gracefully dropping to absurd angles while the riders felt the track with their knees was an unforgettable experience.

2007 ended on a sad note for Indian karting, a motorcycle mishap took away Robin Shroff, the MAI Administrator. Robin gave a certain face to Indian karting and gave the feeling of making the Indian ASN more approachable and easier to deal with than before. Many of the karting fraternity in India and the Asia Zone will miss him.

2007 has been a busy year at KnK. KnK karts were used in a new and very popular “single make” class of racing organized by MECO and sponsored by AMARON batteries. The Amaron Karting Challenge introduced thousands of school children in the junior and senior categories to kart racing. In 2008 MECO look set to add a cadet class to the popular AKC.

The first round of the MAI MRF INKC kicked off in a parking lot at the Cochin airport earlier this month. KnK racing’s Rotax senior driver Rayomand Banajee raced the KnK Integra under his team banner Speed Rayo Racing on a narrow track marked by tyre barriers .

The new compact KnK clutch is available for a variety of shaft sizes in inches as well as mm. It is based upon the original very reliable G1 three-shoe dry clutch which has been in use since 2001; the new clutch is built sturdier and more compact than its predecessor.

Final touches and testing new bits on the Annihilator have been rewarding. The new housing mounted brake and some other bits on the frame including a new spindle worked extremely well. The chassis handles very predictably and responds to the smallest of set up changes.

Ishaan of Karts ‘n’ Kitcars, makers of KnK Karts and Lahar were married on the 6th of this month. We have been busy, to put it mildly.

Jake and the new KnK Juvenile continue to impress. His recent wins were at Red Lodge, Wildtrack and Ellough Park. His already impressive haul of trophies this year says a lot.

The racing for the year ended on a happy note for KnK, the final round of the Rotax Challenge at Kolhapur in September had Ameya Walewalkar run away from the field in the Senior class and little Nikhil Kashyap finished a convincing second in Minimax.

After a wet Wednesday, Thursday looked like it might be dry. The track was alive with the sound of Rotax engines while tuners and drivers set about there karts looking for new settings for a circuit they had not driven on before.

Jake Mayes secured a first position at the Wild tracks circuit last month in the Honda Cadet class. Jake will now be moving to cadet class racing at the national level and everyone at KnK Karts wish him all success in the nationals in 2006.

England New race graphics individually identifies the KnK Integra World Formula kart, which earned itself a No. 2 plate for 2006 at a British MSA National event.

August 6th weekend - New driver Michael Dunston has joined Jake Mayes in the Honda Cadet class. Michael drove an excellent race considering he raced for the first time. Jake finished second in the Honda Cadet class in spite of a flat tyre in the finals.

Jake Mayes currently leads the Cadet class at Red Lodge Karting, he races the KnK Juvenile Cadet in the Honda Cadet class.

The first weekend of June we raced again in England. After winning in all the pre-final qualifying and heats Jake Mayes recorded his very first win in the Cadet class.

KnK Juvenile – Cadet 2/4 – The Honda Cadet is a popular class in the UK where most cadet drivers start their racing careers at club and national level meets.

India is gently making its presence felt in the international motor racing scene. Narain K’s very impressive debut into Formula 1 is recognised as the most promising amongst the rookie drivers this year, this says a lot. Karun Chandok and Arman Ebrahim are also showing great form and skill.

Karting in India is looking to grow beyond the boundaries that we have known so far. Narain (Kart he can) Kartikeyan making it into Formula 1 has suddenly increased the interest and improved Indian motor sport viewer ship many fold.
